Zespri China social responsibility event in the Qinghai province

News - 08 December 2015

For the fifth year, Zespri China has dedicated support to schools in rural and poor provinces of China. The purpose is to demonstrate Zespri as being socially responsible and to engage urban consumers to contribute to the effort through donating materials, such as books, clothes and stationary to kids in need.

This year, Zespri collected donations from eight urban cities, built bookshelves from Zespri Kiwifruit pallets and sponsored the building of an art classroom in the Qinghai province to give kids a creative experience. The event was a great success and triggered lots of awareness of the living circumstances of children in poorer regions. It helped reinforce the goodwill and sustainability of the Zespri brand as a responsible corporate in China which consumers value.

Over the past five years, Zespri in conjunction with CCDC institution (Next Generation Growth & Health Foundation), has raised over USD63,381, donated 500 pallet book shelves, 2,500 sets of stationary and more than 20,000 books to 36,700 kids in five different provinces of China.
