This is my favourite page on the website! It is full of yummy food that is made using ZESPRI® Kiwifruit.

Great Kiwifruit Recipes


Traffic Light

On your marks, get set, GO!

  • 2 large ZESPRI® GREEN Kiwifruit
  • 2 large ZESPRI® GOLD Kiwifruit
  • ¼ cup (125 ml) orange juice
  • ½ cup raspberries
  1. Take the skin off the ZESPRI® GREEN Kiwifruit and cut into pieces.
  2. Put the pieces into a blender with 2 tablespoons of orange juice
  3. Blend it until smooth. Pour into one or two long glasses
  4. Take the skin off the ZESPRI® GOLD Kiwifruit and cut into pieces. Put in the blender with 3 tablespoons of orange juice and blend till smooth
  5. Carefully pour the ZESPRI® GOLD Kiwifruit mixture over the back of a spoon onto the top of the green mixture
  6. Blend the raspberries with 2 tablespoons of orange juice, until smooth. Pour over the back of a spoon onto the top of the gold mixture. There should now be three different colours!
  7. Drink immediately – through a bendy straw is best!

Yoghurt Whip

If you love yoghurt, this is for you!

  • 1 large ZESPRI® Kiwifruit
  • ¼ cup low fat plain yoghurt
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons light brown sugar
  • 2 – 3 ice cubes
  1. Take the skin off one large ZESPRI® Kiwifruit and blend in a blender
  2. Remove the seeds using a sieve. Add ¼ cup of low fat plain yoghurt, a ¼ cup of milk, 2 teaspoons light brown sugar and 2 - 3 ice cubes in the blender and mix everything together
  3. Best eaten with a teaspoon as an after school snack

Orange Kiwi

If oranges have lots of vitamin C and kiwifruit has twice as much, imagine how much there would be if you combined them!

  • 3 ZESPRI® GOLD Kiwifruit
  • ¾ cup orange juice
  • Ice cream or yoghurt
  1. Take the skin off 3 ZESPRI® GOLD Kiwifruit and cut them into pieces. Put in a blender with ¾ cup orange juice
  2. Blend until smooth. Pour into 2 long glasses
  3. Top with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of yoghurt - yum, yum!
Serves 1 - 2

Fresh Fruit Kebabs with Citrus Honey Dressing

Mmmmm, fresh fruit!

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon runny honey
  • 3 ZESPRI® GREEN Kiwifruit, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled
  • Small bunch black grapes
  1. Mix the lemon juice and honey in a small bowl
  2. Cut the fruit into pieces and put onto skewers
  3. Pour the citrus honey dressing over the top and eat

Pita Packs

If mum makes boring sandwiches, you could always give her this recipe!

  • 1 medium sized pita bread
  • ½ cup salad greens
  • 2 peeled and sliced ZESPRI® Kiwifruit
  • 2 – 4 slices of ham or cold meat
  1. Cut the pita bread in half. Fill both halves with ½ cup lettuce, 2 peeled and sliced ZESPRI® Kiwifruit, 2 - 4 thin slices of ham or cold meat
  2. Add a little bit of mustard
  3. Start eating!

Kiwifruit Jam

Better invite Grandma over to help with this one!

  • 10 ZESPRI® GREEN Kiwifruit, peeled and mashed
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 5 cups sugar
  • ¾ cup water
  • 1 package powdered fruit pectin
  1. Put the ZESPRI® GREEN Kiwifruit, lemon juice and sugar in a bowl. Stir to mix it all together then let it sit for 30 minutes
  2. Meanwhile, mix the water and the powdered fruit pectin in a small saucepan - ask mum or granny to bring this to the boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir into the ZESPRI® GREEN Kiwifruit mixture all at once and continue stirring for 3 minutes
  3. Scoop it with a spoon or ladle into clean jars, leaving 1 cm gap at the top. Wipe the top clean with damp cloth and put the lids on. Let stand at room temperature for 24 hours, then store in the freezer. It will also keep fresh in the fridge for up to 3 weeks
  4. It tastes great on crumpets or English muffins - yummy and sweet!
Serves Makes 7 cups

Kiwi Stir-Fried Chicken

A really yummy stir fry

  • 500 g (1 lb) boneless chicken
  • 2 tablespoons cornflour (cornstarch)
  • 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 red pepper (capsicum), thinly sliced
  • 2 ZESPRI® GOLD Kiwifruit
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cornflour
  1. Ask mum or dad to cut the chicken into thin strips. Combine the cornflour and five-spice powder in a bowl, add the chicken and coat it evenly. Place to one side
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a wok or fry-pan over high heat (again, its is better to one of your parents to do this - we don't want you getting burnt!). Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Stir-fry the chicken in batches until cooked then place on a paper towel
  3. Wipe the pan clean, add a teaspoon of oil and heat. Stir-fry the pepper until crisp. Put to one side
  4. Peel and slice the ZESPRI® GOLD Kiwifruit in strips
  5. Combine sauce ingredients and pour into the pan, stirring until thickened. Add the chicken and heat through. Add the pepper and ZESPRI® GOLD Kiwifruit
  6. Eat with rice or salad (or both) - a very healthy and nutritious meal

Choc O' Gold Muffins

Hope you love these muffins as much as I do!

  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 cups (250 g) self raising flour
  • 75 g (3 oz) butter or margarine
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • ½ cup (125 ml) milk
  • 2 large ZESPRI® GOLD Kiwifruit
  1. Ask mum or dad to preheat the oven to 190ºC (375ºF)
  2. Lightly grease 10 muffin cups with butter or margarine
  3. Place the chocolate chips, sugar and sifted flour into a bowl
  4. Melt the butter or margarine and combine with the egg and milk
  5. Peel the 2 ZESPRI® GOLD Kiwifruit
  6. Cut in 1 cm (½ inch) pieces. Keep some of the fruit to put on the top of the muffins
  7. Add all the liquid ingredients and diced fruit to the dry ingredients and mix together until moist
  8. Spoon into the muffin cups and put the rest of the kiwifruit on top
  9. Bake for about 20 minutes
  10. Eat with a big glass of milk - a tasty treat for everyone!

Kids Kiwifruit Cone

I love desserts, how about you?

  • ½ cup white chocolate morsels
  • 6 ice cream cones, cake style
  • 3 ZESPRI® GREEN Kiwifruit, peeled and finely diced
  • ½ cup strawberries, finely diced
  • ½ cup bananas, sliced and diced
  1. Microwave the chocolate in small microwave-safe bowl for 1 minute, stirring every 30 seconds, or until melted. Stir until smooth
  2. Dip rim of each ice cream cone into melted chocolate and pour a little bit of the chocolate into the cones. Allow them to cool for 10 minutes
  3. Mix ZESPRI® GREEN Kiwifruit, strawberries and bananas in medium bowl. Put the fruit mixture into the cones
  4. Eat immediately as a healthy dessert treat

Pita Faces


  • 2 small round pita bread
  • ½ cup (125 ml) Nutella (hazelnut spread) or chocolate spread
  • 2 ZESPRI® GREEN Kiwifruit, peeled and sliced
  • ½ cup mini marshmallows
  • 4 mini round sweets
  1. Cover the pita breads with the hazelnut or chocolate spread
  2. Add marshmallows at the top for the hair
  3. Add 2 round slices of ZESPRI® GREEN Kiwifruit for eyes and place the mini sweets in the centre
  4. Cut half rounds of the fruit for the mouth and ears
  5. Cut triangle shapes out of the kiwifruit for the nose
