Once babies get the taste for solid foods, they love to try something new. Every mealtime can be an adventure into the unknown. For parents it can be difficult to navigate all the tips and advice that can be found on the internet. But help is at hand! Below you will find everything you need to know about feeding your baby kiwifruit.

1. You can feed your baby solid foods from around 8 months old

Kiwifruit that is easy to mash or puree is a good choice for infants who are just starting to eat solid foods1,2. What’s more, as your child moves onto finger foods in the months that follow, fresh fruit is great for cutting into bite-sized chunks or strips1,2. However, some types of fruit such as strawberries, oranges or kiwifruit can be quite acidic, so keep an eye out for any signs of a reaction (such as rashes), which can sometimes occur with acidic foods3. For that reason, and especially if your baby has previously shown a reaction to other acidic foods, we suggest introducing kiwifruit into the diet a little later, from 8 – 12 months.
